Protest In The Golden Triangle

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI) – Protests happening throughout the country including right here in the Golden Triangle. This after President Trump asks Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign.

The Starkville Chapter of MoveOn and Indivisible Golden Triangle organized a protest.

The issue is what they are calling “an out of the ordinary appointment” to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions position.

Sessions’ Chief of Staff, Matthew Whitaker is temporarily in Sessions position after his resignation.

The group gathered in front of the Oktibbeha County Courthouse for roughly an hour.

Protester Gage Pinson says this act by the government is outrageous and he had to make his voice heard.

“So, as a college student with a lot of time that I don’t have I’m making it a point to do something about it. I’m not able to do much, but that’s why we can come together and we can organize together and we can make stuff happen and that’s why this is happening all over the country and that’s why it’s so important to do it,”said Pinson.

The protesters are calling on Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker to issue a statement against Whitaker’s appointment.
