State Troopers begin holiday enforcement period stressing driver safety
NORTHEAST, Miss. (WCBI) – Law Enforcement will be out in full force starting December 31.
The holiday enforcement period begins at midnight.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officers want to remind drivers to be safe this holiday season.
That means no distracted driving and no drunk driving.
Sgt. Derrick Beckom said his goal is for every driver to return home safely to their families.
“While you’re out, enjoy yourself, you know, continue to social distance and be safe, and remember, don’t drink and drive. Don’t be distracted while driving. Please wear your seatbelt,” said Beckom.
The enforcement period will end Sunday, January 3, at midnight.
