Children spread creative holiday cheer
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Community members and families gathered Wednesday to recognize young artists creating holiday cheer.
Lowndes County K-5 grade students submitted their Holiday art for a chance to walk in the Columbus Christmas Parade as Junior Grand Marshals.
The parade planning committee sponsors the Holiday Art Contest and selects the winners from nearly 300 entries that follow this years’ theme ‘Sounds of the Season’ and hoped to bring holiday excitement and joy to local children.
This is the 6th year the art contest has promoted the holiday spirit to local children, awarding 3 awards in each grade category.
