Man killed in Monroe County home invasion

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Nettleton man was shot to death after a home invasion in Monroe County, according to investigators.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says Andrew Culver, 38, parked his truck on Highway 25 and walked to a home on Reeves Drive about 1 a.m. on Friday.

The door was kicked-in, waking the homeowners.

Cantrell told WCBI the homeowner held Culver at gunpoint, waiting until law enforcement arrived.

At some point, Culver charged at the homeowner and that’s when a shotgun was fired.

The homeowner is not facing any charges, at this time.
