School board upholds termination
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- After a 3 hour executive session the Columbus Municipal School District’s Board of trustees affirm the decision to terminate former Assistant Superintendent Craig Shannon.
A special called meeting on the matter was held Tuesday afternoon.
Shannon was present at the meeting, but did not speak. An attorney spoke on his behalf.
Last October, Shannon got his resignation letter.
During an appeal hearing Dr. Cherie Labat claimed she didn’t trust Shannon and talked to him about his job performance several times.
The board voted 5-0 that Dr. Labat’s decision to fire Shannon, was appropriate.
