Pickens County EMA asking for flood cleanup donations
PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – The Pickens County EMA Director said she has seen residents come together as family to help one another after disastrous flooding in the county.
Now, she’s asking for the public’s help with cleanup donations.
EMA Director Lakitha Bell said she has spent the past couple days riding around in boats with Pickensville residents in their front yards. Flooding has caused residents’ houses to be five and six feet underwater.
She said with all the water, there is a major cleanup coming.
To prepare, the EMA is asking for donations including bottled water and all cleaning supplies such as rakes, shovels, five gallon buckets, gloves etc.
Where and when you can take donations will be announced soon.
