Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman receives storm damage
PARCHMAN, Miss. (WCBI) – Storms caused damage at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections said the roof damage happened on Tuesday night, August 19, during a storm.
No staff or inmates were damaged.
Inmates in the building were moved to other areas on the prison grounds.
MDOC said it is still assessing the damage and will work to make the necessary repairs.
