Slight Flash Flooding Risk Today

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – A low pressure moving in is bringing showers and storms that could cause minor flooding in some areas.

TODAY – Today is going to be pretty rainy for most of the day, with some areas seeing localized heavy rainfall. These bullseyes could see between 3-5 inches of rain and with that comes the potential for street flooding. Others may only receive half an inch of rain. Some storms could also consist of frequent lightning and even gusty winds. Rain most of the day will limit temps to the low 80’s for the afternoon high.

TOMORROW – Tomorrow will have more scattered showers and storms, but not as much as what we’ll experience today. There is another chance for localized heavy rainfall and some stronger storms as well. With slightly less coverage, temps will be able to warm into the upper 80’s.

REST OF WEEK – By Thursday, the summer pattern returns with isolated rain chances and the 90’s. Looking into the weekend, the mid 90’s are expected to make a comeback which may bring heat threats yet again.
