Former Greenville Police Officer to spend seven years behind bars

GREENVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A former Greenville Police Officer will spend the next seven years behind bars.

Martavis Moore was sentenced in the United States Attorney’s Office.

Northern District today after previously pleading guilty to conspiracy to aid and abet and attempt and abet the possession, transportation, and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Moore apparently accepted a bribe to assist a drug dealer in transporting goods throughout Greenville.

Judge Debra Brown sentenced him to 92 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case.
