Police make an arrest in a fatal shooting in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -A Guntown man is in the Lee County Jail, accused of killing his own brother.
Charles Burleson the Second was shot at the Sprint Mart at 1930 Briar Ridge Road Friday night and taken to North Mississippi Medical Center.
Chad D. Burleson of Guntown, the victim’s brother, was arrested in a neighboring jurisdiction Saturday and initially charged with Aggravated Assault.
A short time after Chad Burleson’s arrest, Charles Burleson died of his wounds, and the Aggravated Assault charge was upgraded to First Degree Murder.
A Tupelo Municipal Court Judge has ordered Chad Burleson to be held without bond.
