One man dead after shooting at Verona convenience store

VERONA, Miss. (WCBI) – One man is dead after a shooting in Verona.

Verona Police were called to Super C on Raymond Avenue about a possible shooting around 1:15 P.M. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found out the victim was being taken to the emergency room with a possible gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:36 PM according to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green.

The body is being sent to the state crime lab for autopsy.

Verona Police have a person of interest in the case, but have not publicly identified them yet.
