MDA Marketing Exec Leaving

Jackson, Miss. (Nov. 19, 2015) – Mississippi Development Authority Chief Marketing Officer Marlo Dorsey is stepping down from her position at the state’s lead economic development agency to pursue other private sector opportunities. Dorsey joined MDA in 2012, and was responsible for the state’s global marketing and public relations efforts.

“The last three years at MDA have been an amazing journey of public service and new frontiers,” Dorsey said. “I am honored to have served as a leader in the field of economic development under the administration of Gov. Phil Bryant. Mississippi is positioned for growth and significant future investment. I am grateful to have been a part of sharing our state’s location advantages in domestic and foreign markets. I will certainly miss the talented people I had the chance to work with every day. I wish the entire MDA team continued success.”

During her time with the agency, Dorsey was instrumental in strengthening the Mississippi brand portfolio, adding new products and markets to the state’s outreach efforts. She led the development and launch of the state’s newest business recruiting website at mississippi.org, and she worked to significantly increase the state’s social media presence. Dorsey was also a part of the core team that worked on a recent competitiveness study to help grow the state’s economy through job creation, workforce development and corporate investment. Dorsey also played a significant role in Gov. Bryant’s Katrina Remembrance efforts earlier this year.
