Amory Police Sniff Out Suspected Drug Dealer

AMORY, MS (WCBI) – Amory Police were in the right place at the right time Tuesday and now a suspected drug dealer is jailed.

Officers were wrapping up a call at Wal-Mart when Jatarvis Vasser pulled up and parked near them.  That’s when the patrolmen noticed a strong smell of marijuana.  As they approached Vasser he took off running but was captured after a brief foot chase.  Officers then searched his car and found meth, marijuana, cash and an assault rifle.

Vasser is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He is being held pending an initial court appearance.
