Video: Columbus School Bus Involved in Highway 82 Wreck

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Wet roads and speeding could be to blame for a Thursday afternoon wreck involving several cars and a school bus.

The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 82 East, near the Military Road exit.

It involved five cars, plus a Columbus school bus.

Columbus police tell WCBI it stemmed from another wreck with two cars on the side of the road.

Officers say vehicles were slowing down while driving by, and one of them was rear ended.

Another car hit the school bus in the left lane.

22 elementary school students were on board the bus.

None of them was hurt, but the door window on the bus shattered.

No one else was hospitalized in the accident.
