LCSO Makes Drug Bust

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – A drug bust is made in Lowndes County Thursday. 

On February 25th, Narcotics Unit Agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Lowndes County Special Response Team, MBN, and deputies with the U.S. Marshal Service executed a search warrant at 302 Winston Road.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of cocaine, money, and a firearm.

37-year-old Jermaine Cockrell of Columbus was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and tampering with physical evidence.

Cockrell was transported to the Lowndes County Detention Center where he was booked and awaiting bond.
