Winston County Recruiting For Football Team
LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A group of former football standouts are starting something new in their community.
The Winston County Youth Association will have a one-of-a kind pee-wee football team this fall.
Coaches will be former football players, state champion winners and dandy dozen members.
Lawrence Sangster is heading up the league. He says he wants it to be something positive for the kids in the community to participate in.
“Yes, it’s a dire need that we have activities here in the community because the kids don’t have anything to do right after school and it’s very important that we start these programs,” said Sangster.
On Saturday, a sign up day will be held behind U-Banks Wrecker service in Lousiville.
Kids from anywhere in the county are welcome to participate, ages 6 through 12.
The fee for players is $125 and $100 for cheerleaders.
