Man Killed in Noxubee County Accident
NOXUBEE CO, Miss. (WCBI)- A car accident claims the life of a Noxubee County man.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the wreck happened on US Highway 56, at the intersection of MS 388, around 6 A.M Tuesday morning.
A white 1998 Peterbilt tractor trailer, loaded with cotton seed was traveling north on US 45 and attempted to exit onto MS 388.
As the Peterbilt merged onto MS 388, it rolled onto its drivers side and began to slide, causing the trailer to collide with the rear end of a white 1998 Cadillac Deville that was traveling West.
The Driver of the Cadillac, 39 year old Tedrick Patterson Brewer, of Brooksville was transported to Macon General with minor injuries.
The driver of the Peterbilt, 47 year old John Carr Gauntt of Macon, recieved life threatening injuries and was transported to Macon General, and then to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Gauntt died Wednesday from injuries sustained during the crash. The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
