One In Critical Condition In Monroe County Wreck
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) — A two vehicle accident leaves three injured and one in critical condition.
The wreck happened five miles out of Amory.
Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle wreck on US 45 North at the intersection of Central Grove Road around 7:03 P.M. Thursday night.
A brown 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling North on US 45.
A red 2009 Nissan Altima was traveling south on US 45.
The Nissan entered the crossover traveling east and attempted to cross the northbound lanes at which time the front of the Nissan collided into the driver’s side of the Chevrolet.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 51 year old James Halford, Jr of Atwood, TN and his passenger , 72 year old James Halford Sr. both sustained moderate injuries in the collision and were transported to North Mississippi Medical center for further medical treatment. Both the driver and his passenger were wearing their seatbelts.
The driver of the Nissan, 42 year old Kimberly N. Caldwell of Nettleton, MS sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene to North Mississippi Medical Center. Ms. Caldwell was not wearing her seatbelt.
The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
