Fire Insurance Rating to Decrease to Insurance Premiums
OKTIBBEHA CO, Miss. (WCBI)- The Oktibbeha County District No. 5 Fire Protection District announces an improved fire protection rating.
On May 17, 2016 The Mississippi State Rating Bureau, or MSRB, awarded a Class 7 rating to FPD.
Officials say this is an improvement over the previous rating of Class 8. The MSRB rates districts on a scale of one to 10, with one being the lowest possible rating.
Outside the City of Starkville (Class 4), Oktibbeha County District No. 5 FPD is the first to achieve a rating below a Class 8.
MSRB is citing the departments advancement in fire protection and prevention.
Property owners and renters within the district should expect to see an immediate decrease in the
cost of their insurance premiums.
Those affected are also encouraged to contact their insurance agent, to ensure that they are receiving the benefits of the new rating.
