Car Theft Suspect in Custody

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Amory police have a man in custody, who they say wrecked a stolen car.

Right now they’re not releasing his name and charges until Friday.

Investigators believe he took a vehicle from Fifth Street North Wednesday night.

A short time later, a state trooper spotted the vehicle on Highway 45, just south of Hamilton.

The highway patrolman turned around, the man turned onto Delk Drive, and crashed.

Police say the man wasn’t around when the trooper found the stolen vehicle.
