Video: Crews Replacing Downtown Sewer Line

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Work continues on replacing a sewer line in downtown Columbus.

Crews blocked off Second Avenue North at Main Street.

Columbus Light and Water General Manager Todd Gale says this is phase two of the project.

Work is being done at the Riverwalk before moving along to the soccer complex area.

A new 24 inch pipe is being installed, replacing a more than 40-year-old pipe.

The project cost is more than $300,000.

Work should be complete in about three weeks, but the road will not be closed that long.
