UPDATE – Suspect Named In Tupelo Murder

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Formal charges are expected Monday in a fatal Tupelo shooting .  26 year old Amos McGinister is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Center.

Tupelo Police are not specifying what McGinister will be officially charged with but online jail records show he is being held on a murder charge .  Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green tells WCBI 29-year-old Carl King was shot and killed on Wilson Street early Saturday morning.

Several people were on the scene, including the suspected shooter. Tupelo Police took McGinister into custody at the residence.

Green also said an autopsy will be performed on Monday.
