Okolona Man Faces 16 Charges Following Chase
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — An Okolona man is behind bars on 16 charges, accused of going on a weekend joyride.
Douglas Kimble is accused of dodging a Mississippi Highway Patrol checkpoint on Saturday, then state troopers reportedly chased him down McAllister Road.
Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell tells WCBI Kimble eventually stopped, and took off running in the woods, where a Monroe County K-9 tracked him down.
The sheriff says Kimble was high, and had a lot of drugs.
The 16 charges range from possession of a controlled substance and DUI, to felony fleeing.
Kimble, who’s a convicted felon, was also wanted in Chickasaw County.
