Video: Board Of Supervisors Select Consulting Agency

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Oktibbeha County Leaders are looking into the future of OCH Regional Medical Center.

On Monday, the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors chose Stroudwater as the agency they want to come in, to assess the hospital.

They spent several hours interviewing four different firms to help them make a decision.

Board president Orlando Trainer said Stroudwater presented the best proposal that fit what they were looking for.

Stroudwater will help supervisors determine whether or not they should sell the hospital.

The first step is both parties to draw up contracts, then begin work, howevers Stroudwater said they’re hoping to begin work by September first.

“One of the things we alluded to tonight was, what’d really like to do is get as much factual information as we can out on the table at the start so everybody is working from the same information,” said Jeff Sommer, director with Stroudwater. “There will be demographic information, looking at the service area, competitive information, we’ll be looking at clinical information, quality, open statistics, financial information, and just looking at all of that , and trying to draw some conclusions and findings that’ll help decision makers assess the relative risks of different directions.”

Trainer said he expects the assessment to take anywhere from two, to two-and-a-half months.
