Local Church Members Volunteering In Louisiana

LOUISIANA – (WCBI) – A group of volunteers in Columbus are in southern Louisiana. They’re taking time to help areas affected by flooding, and are focusing on helping to rebuild a church there.

The group is from Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, and will start working in Denham Springs, Louisiana, Monday morning.

Forty-thousand homes have been damaged, and some are calling it one of the worst natural disasters in the United States.

“It’s really emotional. It tugs at your heart. We just, it’s a lot of hard work. It just takes time and people to do it,” says group leader, Tommy Gillon.
