NEW ALBANY, Miss.(WCBI) — More than 100 motorcyclists paid tribute to a Union County Sheriff’s Deputy killed in the line of duty almost two years ago.

They departed New Albany Saturday morning and headed for Bay Springs Lake in Alabama. The ride was to honor Clint Frazier who was killed in an auto accident on December 18 2013. Baron Baker worked with Frazier at the Sheriff’s office and helped organize the memorial ride.

“Clint was a very good man, great deputy,” Baker recounts. “He was our friend, more than that he was a brother to all of us. And we just wanted to keep his memory alive and just keep his legacy going so we decided we would organize a benefit motorcycle ride in his honor.”

The riders finished their official ride at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tupelo. Baker says beginning this year they are using the event to raise money for scholarships for a high school senior from Union County who have a parent or grand parent that works in emergency services.

He says this year they awarded 500-dollars to Joshua Stacy, whose father works for the New Albany Fire Department.
