Video: Mom Pushes For Tighter Caffeine Control
WINONA (WCBI) A Water Valley mother continues her push to have the sale of caffeine pills restricted to people 18 and older.

SMITH
17 year old Noah Smith died in September 2014 after he took over the counter caffeine pills in order to keep up with his hectic schedule as a high school senior. In the wake of her sons death Jennifer Westmoreland began the effort to restrict the sales. The effort has been dubbed Noah’s Law but for two straight years the Mississippi Legislature did not pass the bill. Westmoreland is now trying a new strategy by going to individual city and county boards looking for local laws. That’s a strategy that seems to be working with Oxford, water valley, Lafayette and other governments agreeing with the idea. Tuesday night she is set to appear before the Winona Board of Alderman asking them to take a look at the measure.
