Governor Orders Cuts To State Agencies
JACKSON (WCBI) – An accounting error is being blamed for nearly $57 million dollars in cuts ordered by Gov. Phil Bryant.

The reduction comes just over two months into the current fiscal year. Bryant says state spending has grown 26% over the past 4 years and that rate is simply not sustainable. Not every agency will feel the cuts but the ones affected will see their funds cut by 1.63%. Among those exempted are the Mississippi Adequate Education Program .
