Oxford To Implement Permit Plan On Streets Near Campus
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) – People parking without a permit near the University of Mississippi campus could soon face city fines – or even get a boot on a vehicle for repeated violations.
The Oxford Board of Aldermen voted this week to require paid permits for parking on two streets near campus for more than two hours a day.

The Oxford Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/2cG136X ) the cost is $50 for residents and $25 for their visitors.
Tyler Avenue and Fifth Streets are often clogged with campus commuters. Although the two streets already have a two-hour parking limit, it has rarely been enforced.
The pay-to-park plan for the two streets takes effect Oct. 6.
It will be enforced from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, but not on game days or for church parking on weekends.
