BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey has identified the man his officers arrested in the shooting on Northeast Mississippi Community College campus.

DILWORTH
Ramey says 25 year Robert Dilworth of Rienzi is charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault and one count of possesion of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Ramey says the incident appears to be in part a case of mistaken identity. The investigation shows Dilworth had been involved in an altercation with some other people earlier in the evening of August 25th. The two people fired on were out jogging on the edge of campus when they ran up on Dilworth. Ramey says he believes Dilworth mistook them for the people from the earlier fight and opened fire. When it was finished, 8 rounds from a 22 had been fired and a Northeast student suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
Dilworth’s bond is set at $125,000
