Prison Time For Former Baseball Coach

STARKVILLE (WCBI) -A former Starkville Academy baseball coach will spend one year in prison for trying to lure teens into having sex.

Jody Britt was sentenced this week to three years in prison with two suspended on computer luring charges. Britt pled guilty to the charges last month. The case started in September 2015 when Britt approached two juveniles asking them to send sexually explicit pictures to him and also suggested they engage in sex acts. Britt had already left his job at Starkville Academy and was arrested in Madison County where he was coaching at Ridgeland High School. Britt must also pay a 500 dollar fine and register as a sex offender.
