Video: A Community Potluck
ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – The Aberdeen Community Potluck tradition brings dozens of residents out to share an early Thanksgiving meal.
This is the fourth year for the potluck that’s held at the Aberdeen Park and Recreation Building.
The city provides the location and local businesses and elected officials donate food to make it all possible.
“A few years ago, it was our 175th anniversary, so we wanted to find different ways to bring the community together, and so the community potluck has just continued to grow year after year, after year. It’s grown by forty people every year, and we’re just so proud of it, and we’re so thankful that we were able to come up with this idea to share it with the community and come together,” says Aberdeen Potluck Director, Sara Nerren.
Residents were encouraged to bring a dish to go along with the meal.
There was also a canned food drive, music, and local ministers.
