Video: A Painter’s Artwork Brings Back Family Memories For One Man

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Mrs. Weeks’ paintings are also bringing back memories for others.

The subject of most of her work is her beloved Aunt Hattie. She was the midwife who delivered Mrs. Weeks and took care of her during her childhood.

The talented painter recently met one of Ms. Hattie’s grandsons and was able to share her artwork.

Frankie Lee Brown says he enjoys seeing Mrs. Weeks’ memories of his family, including some he didn’t know about it.

“She had one of my aunts and I couldn’t believe that, Aunt Sis. I couldn’t believe that.”

He says Mrs. Weeks’ paintings still amaze him.

“They bring back memories. I remember the places. I use to stay with my grandmother a little bit, but I can’t remember my grandfather, he died early.”
