Jailers To Face Punishment For Inmate’s Escape

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – At least nine Lowndes County Adult Detention Center jailers are punished after an inmate escapes. Chief Deputy Marc Miley tells WCBI the employees are facing a “tough” disciplinary action.

However, he declined to give specific details because it’s a personnel matter.

No employees are facing criminal charges.

29 year-old Delvin Moore escaped from the jail back on September 2nd.

A $4,000 reward is being offered by the sheriff’s department and U.S. Marshals for information leading to Moore’s capture.

He was arrested the day before by Columbus police on an armed robbery charge.
