VIDEO: Celebrating 40 Years

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)- The MSU Brothers of Eta Xi and Theta Delta Delta chapters, of the Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. turn 40 this weekend.

Omega Psi Phi is an international fraternity with over 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters.

And 40 years ago the organization arrived at MSU.

The Fraternity hosted several events throughout the weekend, including a community service-mentoring event.

The celebration continues, tonight with a gala.

The members says they are happy to be able to serve the community.

“Oh, it feels great. If feels great to see these guys come back and help us out and teach us the way to live through Omega and how we’re suppose to be in life,”said Undergraduate Member of Omega Psi Phi Tavis Moore.

“Well, you know when you first come in you’re all excited and then you hit your 5 year mile stone and you say wow that brother’s been around for a long time and then you hear 10 and etc. After you’ve been here for 40 years it really isn’t about you it’s about what you can give,”said MSU Chapter Charter Member James Pattman.

The weekend will conclude with a church services at Griffin Methodist Church in Starkville.
