Alleged Church Burglars Arrested In Itawamba County

ITAWAMBA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A routine traffic stop turned chase when an Itawamba couple evaded arrest.

James Brown of Dorsey and Kayla Wright of Tremont refused to pull over for an Itawamba County Deputy during a traffic stop earlier today, October 2.

Brown and Wright were later detained and a search of the vehicle turned up multiple stolen items.

The couple was charged with Burglary of a Commercial Building, Possession of Burglary Tools and a Controlled Substance in addition to the Felony Eluding charge.

Bond has been set at $140,000 for Brown and $30,000 for Wright.

The two are suspects in at least 7 church burglaries, 3 home burglaries, and the theft of batteries from commercial equipment.
