VIDEO: OCH Regional Conducts Annual Disaster Drill
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – When disaster strikes, it’s important for first responders to be ready to take action.
The staff at OCH Regional Medial Center put their training into practice during a drill today.
Volunteers acted as victims of a disaster to give employees the refreshers they need to be prepared it the real thing happened.
“You just sort of take for granted that in the middle of an emergency ‘oh! Everybody knows what’s going on.’ No. Even with all of your responders, between your EMS, law-enforcement, fire department, we’ve all got to be talking in ways that we understand,” said disaster preparedness officer, Wes Andrews.
The drill was held Thursday morning from 8 to 10.
