Tupelo Plant Set To Expand

 

MDA PRESS RELEASE  ckson, Miss. (March 21, 2018) – WestRock Company, a provider of differentiated paper and packaging solutions, has announced plans to upgrade its corrugated plant in Tupelo, Miss. The addition of new technology in the facility is expected to create approximately 25 jobs.

 

The company plans to install a new 132-inch corrugator to replace an existing 87-inch machine.  The new corrugator is expected to increase the facility’s competitiveness and improving product quality.

 

“WestRock’s growth in Tupelo demonstrates the many advantages a North Mississippi location offers companies, allowing them to expand and create jobs for the people of our state,” Gov. Phil Bryant said.

Bryant’s and the Mississippi Development Authority’s support of our employees and operations in Tupelo,” said Jeff Chalovich, president of WestRock’s corrugated packaging business.  “We look forward to continuing to provide high quality products and services from our operations in Mississippi.”

 

The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for private building modifications. Mississippi Works funds are also available to assist with workforce training.

WestRock’s 45,000 team members support customers around the world from more than 300 operating and business locations spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. WestRock’s Tupelo facility has been in operation since 1971.  The company currently employs more than 200 people in Mississippi.
