Kiwanis Club Holds Its Drawdown Event
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A civic group that helps children across the region held its main fundraiser and one lucky person received a big payday.
The Tupelo Kiwanis Club held its “Drawdown” at The Summit Center.
Participants purchased tickets at $165 dollars each.
Names of all ticket holders were drawn throughout Saturday evening, and the last ticket holder won ten-thousand dollars.
The fundraiser brings in thirty-thousand dollars each year for the club’s work.
“This is our only fundraiser for the year. We have a great club of 149 members and everyone contributes. We have silent auction items and we all work hard together to pull this off,” says Kiwanis Club President, Robin Haire.
Some of the charities the Kiwanis Club helps are CASA, Boys And Girls Club Summer Camp, Salvation Army Summer Camp, Lee County Juvenile Detention Center, and Excel By Five.
