Clinic’s 25th Anniversary

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A clinic that helps those down on their luck reached a milestone yesterday, November 2.

The Antone Tannehill Good Samaritan Free Clinic has been serving the community for 25 years.

Free mamagrams, certain medications, screenings, along with medical and dental care are provided.

Most patients need chronic care.

The small staff relies on volunteers to help patients.

Administrators say most of the people they serve don’t make enough money to have medical insurance.

“And we are still, even with the Affordable Care Act, we still have people that are falling through the cracks of the health care system and those are the ones that we are helping,” Cindy Sparks, clinic administrator.

The clinic only serves Lee County residents and is open Monday through Friday.
