BREAKING- NMMC Flight Nurse Among Arkansas Victims

DEWITT AR/TUPELO (AP/WCBI) – A fixture in the air ambulance efforts of North Mississippi Medical Center is among the victims of a Sunday night crash of a medical helicopter operated by another paramedic service .

SPRUIELL

Jim Spruiell is confirmed to have been aboard the helicopter which crashed near Dewitt, Arkansas just after 8 PM.   Spruiell was doing a temporary assignment for Pafford EMS through Air Methods. Air Methods supplies medical helicopters to hospitals across the country including NMMC.  Spruiell was the Chief Flight Nurse for NMMC and one of the leaders of training efforts for first responders across the region who worked trauma scenes with medical helicopters.  WCBI will have more on this developing story throughout the day .
