Service Award Winners

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Town and Tower recognizes two people for promoting MUW and Columbus at its annual Holiday Luncheon.

Dr. Shelia Adams is honored for her long-service work on campus and professional accomplishments, while bringing national prominence to the W’s nursing program.

Columbus Assistant Police Chief Fred Shelton was the community service award. His career in law enforcement and the military were some accomplishments noted, along with his work in the ministry and the Salvation Army board.

Town and Tower members nominate the recipients.

The organization works to promote a continued working relationship with the city and the university.

Awards are given this time every year.
