Law Enforcement Seminar
NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Crime is forever changing which means training is always growing for law enforcement.
The Noxubee County 911 Office and the 16th district, district attorney’s office put on a training course for law enforcement.
Local agencies along with outside agencies came out to learn and teach training methods.
Crime scene management, legal updates through the DA’s Office, and the importance of radio dispatch between law enforcement and the 911 center were some of today’s topics.
911 Director Corey Brown says local enforcement wanted and needed more training, so they decided to bring it to them at home.
“Training is always key in every field and in every aspect and you know, especially when you’re talking about something as important as law enforcement. The more training these guys get, the better they’ll be able to process crime scenes, the safer they’ll be, and they safer our community will be,” says Noxubee County 911 Director, Corey Brown.
“You’ve got so much stuff that’s advanced and as crime advances, we have to advance also, in order to stay on top of the ball and that’s what this is all about, bringing knowledge to the smaller counties,” says Noxubee County Sheriff Grassaree.
Someone from Community Counseling Services was also at the course to talk about deselecting a mental health crisis.
Brown says they hope to make the seminar an annual or bi-annual event.
