Video: Christmas Open House
LAMAR COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – Hundreds in Lamar County are making sure the Christmas cheer reaches all this season.
The Lamar County Department of Human Resources hosted its annual Christmas Open House today, December 15.
This yearly event allows the public to see all the toys the “Santa Claus Project” plans to give out.
Over 700 toys have been collected with more than 150 needy children awaiting gifts.
Although Christmas is upon us, Director Randy Shelton says there’s still time to give.
“We invite people to come in and make donations to our Lamar Aid to People. We serve children in the county with Christmas gifts during this time of year and we serve a lot of children that are needy in our county,” says Shelton.
Families can pick up their gifts around the 20th, but the DHS will be taking applications through Christmas.
