New Hope Middle School Christmas Party

NEW HOPE, Miss. (WCBI) – Santa makes a special trip to Lowndes County to visit some special children and deliver Christmas wishes.

New Hope Middle school hosted a Christmas party this morning for the 53 elementary thru high school special needs students on the campus.

One of the elves even came along for the fun.

New Hope Pharmacy helped out by putting up an angel tree so people in the community could buy gifts for the students.

Along with the visit from Santa, today’s party included arts and crafts, great food, and lots of gifts.

“It teaches the kids some social skills to get out of the classroom and it’s community outreach. People in the community help and we’ve got volunteers that are coming and it’s just a great thing for everyone. It’s a blessing to everybody,” says Special Ed Teacher Karen Stafford.

This is the 5th year the school has hosted the party.
