VIDEO: Destroying Poverty One Meal At A Time

COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI) – A Golden Triangle resident is making it her mission to give back to the community.

Schrell Quinn began the Destroying Poverty Organization in 2016 to assist less fortunate people in the area.

Over the last few months the organization has received  can good donations from various members of the community.

Quinn says she had to start the organization because poverty is something that hits close to home .

“What inspired me to do this was my own experiences with poverty. At times money was short. Some times you would have to choose either you were going to put gas in you’re car to go to work. There were days when I missed going to work for gas and you know you had to choose that,”said Quinn.

The Destroying Poverty Organization also has clothing give always throughout the year.
