Donation Rocks Of Love

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a way to connect to lost loved ones.

The Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency hosted Impressions of Life at four sites across Mississippi including Tupelo to honor heroic organ, eye and tissue donors during National Donate Life Month which is April.

This year’s theme is Donation Rocks! Donor families, transplant recipients and advocates can celebrate the gifts of donations through artistic impression by painting “Donation” rocks.

We’re hoping that the loved ones would be painting their rocks sharing at a hashtag in their social media placing it is a very special place either in their garden or in the their home. And again just continuing to celebrate the life of their loved one and perhaps honoring their memory and sharing stories of hope for lives they might have touched through donation,” said Director Of Family Services Carrie Deese.

Deese says they are looking for people willing to donate vital organs like hearts, lungs, livers, kidneys, intestines, and pancreases.

There are 3000 people in the state waiting for lifesaving organ transplants.
