Gunfire Erupts Outside Columbus Shopping Complex

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Latest on the Columbus Leigh Mall Shooting.

Number of shell casings found after police respond to shots fired outside of Leigh Mall.

UPDATED 5:40 p.m.: Columbus police are now confirming one person was shot.

That person was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle with a non life-threatening injury.

According to Columbus Police Chief, Fred Shelton, the victim drove himself to the hospital after being shot

He’s approximately 25 years-old and will have surgery tonight.

Columbus police say this was not a random shooting.

The victim and alleged shooter reportedly know each other.
