Deputies Recover Stolen Farm Equipment

PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Deputies in Prentiss County make an arrest after recovering some stolen farm equipment.

On Saturday January 27, the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department received a report from a resident on CR 6100 that a 2014 Blue New Holland tractor and a red 16ft trailer had been stolen from their barn.

Deputies Taylor Walker, Rusty McCoy, and Gunter Brumley immediately began following tips from the public regarding sightings of the tractor being driven by a white male.

Deputies were able to track the tractor’s path through tips and evidence left behind through Blackland, Jumpertown, and Pisgah, before entering Alcorn County and the Rienzi community.

On Sunday January 28, deputies were able to locate and recover the stolen tractor in a wooded area off of CR 1090.

Early Monday morning, Sheriff Randy Tolar and Chief Deputy Derrick Pruitt recovered the stolen trailer abandoned just off of Hwy 371 near the Hobo Station.

One arrest has been made in connection to the stolen equipment and there will be more soon to follow.
