Troopers Set For Super Bowl Sunday
JACKSON (WCBI) – State troopers will be taking part in an enhanced patrol effort on Super Bowl Sunday.
A national campaign called Operation Crash Awareness and Reduction is set to take place between noon and midnight February 4th. Troopers will be holding saturation patrols and setting up safety checkpoints. Traffic stats show impaired driving crashes spike on Super Bowl Sunday each year. The enforcement effort also comes at a time highway deaths are trending up in Mississippi. Troopers urge the use of designated drivers if you are attending a Super Bowl party.
